Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of maineregisteredagent.co (the "Site") and the registered agent services (the "Services") offered by Maine Registered Agent.co ("we," "us," or "our"). Using our Site or enrolling in Services means you accept these Terms.

1. What We Do

Maine Registered Agent.co provides registered agent services in Maine:

• Maintaining a physical Maine street address as your registered office
• Accepting service of process and other legal documents for your entity
• Scanning documents and delivering them to you electronically the same business day
• Sending compliance reminders for annual reports and other deadlines
• Giving you online access to your document history

We do not provide legal advice, tax preparation, or entity formation services.

2. Who Can Use Our Services

You must be 18 or older and authorized to act for the business entity you are enrolling. All information you provide during sign-up must be accurate.

3. Pricing

• Service costs $99 per year
• Terms start on your enrollment date and renew annually unless cancelled
• Payment is due at sign-up and each renewal
• We accept payment methods shown during checkout
• If we change pricing, you get 30 days notice before your renewal

4. What You Agree To

• Keep your entity and contact information accurate and current
• Tell us promptly if your entity name, address, or officers change
• Check forwarded documents and act on them in a timely manner
• Keep your entity in good standing with the Maine Secretary of State
• Use our address only for registered agent purposes

5. How We Handle Documents

• We accept documents at our Maine address during business hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm ET)
• Received documents get scanned and uploaded to your portal the same business day
• We do not interpret or act on the content of documents
• Physical originals are stored briefly, then securely destroyed
• We do not open sealed documents beyond what scanning requires

6. We Are Not Lawyers

Maine Registered Agent.co is not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, represent you in any proceeding, or interpret any documents. For legal questions, hire a licensed Maine attorney.

7. Liability Limits

To the extent Maine law allows:

• Our total liability for any claims will not exceed what you paid us in the prior 12 months
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
• We are not liable for delays from things outside our control (postal issues, natural disasters, government shutdowns)

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Maine Registered Agent.co, its owners, and employees from claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of Services, your breach of these Terms, or your failure to maintain compliance.

9. Cancellation

• Email support@maineregisteredagent.co to cancel
• Cancellation is effective at the end of your current paid term
• No partial refunds unless we decide otherwise
• You must designate a new agent with the Maine Secretary of State upon cancellation

10. When We May Suspend Service

We can suspend or end your service if:

• Payment fails and stays unresolved after we notify you
• You gave us materially false information
• You use our address for non-agent purposes
• Continuing service would break the law

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Maine law. Disputes go to Maine courts.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. New versions are posted here with a fresh date. Continued use means acceptance.

13. Severability

If one part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still holds.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms plus our Privacy Policy are the whole deal between you and Maine Registered Agent.co.
